Slurry handling / Procurement guide

Slurry pump for coal washing

Coal washing pump enquiries should identify the particular plant stream and the conditions recorded for it. Attach the process diagram, slurry reports and paired duty requirement. Ask for a proposal that addresses those records, including the equipment connections and inspection access relevant to the intended washing plant location.

Name the coal washing stream

Identify the requested stream on the coal washing process diagram and mark the proposed pump location. Name the upstream and downstream plant items using their equipment tags. Ask the process team to confirm the scope of the transfer task before sending a supplier enquiry that could otherwise refer to several different plant streams.

Keep streams with different recorded properties in separate requirement entries. Identify whether the request concerns replacement equipment or a new plant arrangement. Ask the supplier to name the stream and drawing revision addressed by its proposal, and request clarification if the proposed configuration assumes a different connection between the plant process items.

Supply coal washing sample records

Provide the available slurry concentration and particle reports associated with the selected washing stream. Identify the sampling point and the plant operating condition at collection. Ask the laboratory or process team to clarify the measurement basis of the submitted concentration so the purchasing request can carry the same definition as the source report.

Describe recorded variation between samples without inventing a single representative condition. Include available fluid and treatment information where it belongs to the same stream. Ask which additional records are needed for review, and request identification of the slurry sample assumed in the supplier response before the buyer compares a proposed equipment configuration.

Prepare the washing plant duty

Submit flow and head together for each intended operating case, keeping the matching stream description attached. Identify the route drawing used by the plant team to prepare the requirement. Ask the supplier to return its proposed configuration and the performance document addressing that paired duty, with the applicable condition clearly identified.

Ask which operating cases are covered by the response and which remain open for further assessment. Keep proposed changes to plant routing or operating requirements separate from the existing duty. Request a revised response when the plant changes the requirement, and refer any unmatched case to the process specialist before approving the equipment schedule.

Identify washing plant interfaces

Provide the local installation drawing showing the proposed pump location, piping connections and available space. Mark the existing equipment intended for reuse and the boundary of the requested supply. Ask for an outline and connection drawing corresponding to the proposed pump assembly, including identification of the drive and accessories included with it.

Request an explicit description of any interface change introduced by the proposed arrangement. Ask the plant team to review the connection documents against the current installation drawing. Keep questions about site alterations visible as separate items so the buyer can compare equipment proposals without assuming that unassigned installation work is included in the quotation.

Discuss inspection and component records

Attach available wear photographs and maintenance observations from the coal washing duty, identifying the equipment and operating period concerned. Ask for the inspection and maintenance documents corresponding to the proposed configuration. Request the component references needed to distinguish an impeller or liner enquiry from a request concerning the seal or bearing assembly.

Describe the inspection access available at the intended plant location. Ask which additional arrangement information is needed to review the proposed maintenance access. Keep observations from existing equipment tied to that equipment, and request a specific response where the buyer wants to discuss their relevance to the newly proposed assembly or requested replacement scope.

Compare the coal washing response

Check that the returned proposal refers to the same stream, sample records, paired duty and installation drawing as the enquiry. Request written clarification of each changed assumption. Ask for a revised equipment attachment if the proposed configuration changes during procurement so the plant team can review the current response against the current requirement.

Separate technical questions for the plant team from commercial questions for purchasing. Request the maintenance and identification documents associated with the configuration being considered. Confirm minimum order quantity and lead time before ordering, and ask for the package scope, packing information and delivery terms needed to plan receipt of the proposed equipment at the plant.
