Identify the power plant duty
Mark the relevant transfer duty on the plant system diagram and identify the source and destination equipment. State whether the enquiry concerns a replacement installation or a new project arrangement. Ask the plant team to confirm the system boundary and the equipment tags that should remain attached to the enquiry throughout supplier correspondence.
Keep other plant duties outside that requirement unless they are entered as separate operating cases. Identify the revision of each submitted system drawing. Ask the supplier to describe which duty its proposed configuration addresses, and request clarification if its response assumes another plant system or a supply boundary different from the request.
Document the plant slurry condition
Attach available slurry sampling records, including particle information, concentration definition and fluid description. Identify the plant location and operating condition represented by each sample. Ask which additional records are needed to review the intended transfer task, and request the supplier to identify the slurry information assumed in the proposed configuration response.
Describe recorded changes between plant operating conditions using separate entries. Ask the process specialist to review whether a submitted sample applies to the duty being purchased. Keep sample observations distinct from proposed equipment descriptions so the technical team can assess the response against the actual material records rather than a general power plant application statement.
Separate plant operating scenarios
Provide the requested flow and head together for each plant operating case. Link each pair to the appropriate system route and slurry record. Ask for the proposed equipment configuration and corresponding performance document addressing that requirement, with any unanswered case identified separately for further discussion with the responsible plant specialist.
Identify which requirements are measured and which are supplied as project design inputs. Attach the available record behind the requirement without adding an unsupported operating assumption. Request a revised response if the plant changes the route or duty during procurement, and keep alternative proposals associated with their own operating case labels and document references.
Review the plant installation
Supply the installation drawing with pump location, pipe interfaces and access restrictions. For a sump arrangement, include the available section drawing and liquid level references. Ask for the proposed assembly outline and connection information so the plant team can compare the configuration with the intended location before accepting the equipment arrangement.
Identify the existing drive, structures or connection items intended to remain outside the supply scope. Request a separate item list for the proposed package. Ask for changed interfaces to be shown explicitly, and refer each connection question to the buyer team responsible for that part of the plant installation rather than leaving the scope implicit.
Request plant maintenance documents
Provide relevant inspection observations from existing equipment, identifying the plant duty and equipment reference. Ask for the maintenance document associated with the proposed assembly and the information needed to identify its components. Request specific clarification of access requirements where the available plant arrangement limits inspection, removal or replacement of the proposed equipment.
Ask which assembly drawing should accompany future enquiries about the impeller, liner, seal or bearing arrangement. Keep any requested maintenance support scope separate from the equipment description. Request written identification of the configuration to which a maintenance response applies so the plant can review the document against the assembly being considered for purchase.
Align the power plant proposal
Compare the returned equipment schedule with the system diagram, slurry record and paired duty cases. Request answers to unresolved installation and operating questions before approving the proposed scope. Ask for current drawing and performance references to be carried into the quotation attachment when a revised configuration is proposed during the purchase discussion.
Refer the technical response to the plant specialist responsible for the duty and identify commercial questions for the purchasing team. Request the relevant equipment identification and document list. Confirm minimum order quantity and lead time before ordering, and ask for packing, handling and destination arrangements for the particular proposed equipment package.
