Draw the source arrangement
Identify the source vessel or collection location, the proposed pump position and the connecting route on a site drawing. Mark the level references already held by the project team. Ask the supplier which further source information is needed to discuss the requested suction arrangement before offering a configuration for the buyer to review.
Separate the current installation from any proposed source or pump relocation. Ask the project team to identify which dimensions are measured and which remain planned. Request a supplier response against the same arrangement drawing, and keep alternatives under separate references where they depend on a different source location, liquid level or equipment position.
Describe the intended starting conditions
Ask the operating team to describe the conditions under which the requested equipment would be started. Identify the relevant source state and the site records available for review. Request the configuration specific operating document that addresses those conditions, keeping questions about the proposed arrangement separate from any procedure currently used with existing equipment.
Refer the returned starting and operating information to the buyer technical reviewer. Ask for clarification if the document describes another configuration or depends on a condition not included in the enquiry. Request a written explanation of the equipment and site assumptions covered by the response before the project decides how the proposed option should be assessed.
Record the suction route interfaces
Provide the route drawing and identify the existing connection items or equipment intended to remain. Ask for the corresponding connection document for each proposed arrangement. Mark unresolved interface questions against the buyer drawing so the supplier can address the actual source connection rather than a general description of a suction method.
Request identification of any changed connection, accessory or site supplied item introduced by an alternative proposal. Ask the project team to review those changes against the intended installation. Keep the interface questions associated with their own arrangement so the buyer can distinguish a difference in equipment scope from a difference in the source installation being considered.
Submit the same slurry description
Attach the available fluid, concentration and particle information for the source stream. Identify the sampling location and operating state represented by the records. Ask which additional slurry details are needed for the proposed arrangement review, and request the supplier to name the material description assumed in each configuration response provided for comparison.
Describe different source conditions in separate records rather than combining them into an unsupported description. Ask the process specialist to review whether each sample applies to the intended duty. Request clarification if an alternative is described using another slurry condition, keeping the material assumption visible when the project compares responses to the source and starting requirements.
Link the arrangement to the duty
Submit the required flow and head together for each operating case and identify the matching source drawing. Ask for the proposed configuration and its performance document addressing that duty. Request clarification of the assumptions used in the response, and ask the project specialist to review them against the source arrangement and slurry records submitted with the enquiry.
Keep alternative suction arrangements connected to their own performance and operating documents. Ask which cases remain unanswered in each proposal. Request revised documents when the source location, route or operating requirement changes so the buyer does not compare an earlier arrangement with a later duty requirement during the equipment selection and quotation review.
Request the operating document package
Ask for the installation, operating and maintenance documents belonging to the exact proposed configuration. Request identification of the equipment and site conditions assumed by those documents. Refer the returned information to the buyer responsible for the source installation, and ask for any unresolved starting or connection question to be answered before the equipment schedule is approved.
Request an itemized description of the proposed pump, drive and accessories so the supply boundary remains clear. Keep technical review separate from commercial confirmation of the quotation. Confirm minimum order quantity and lead time before ordering, and request packing and delivery arrangements for the particular equipment package and destination under consideration.
