Locate the treatment stream
Identify the treatment stage and mark the source, destination and intended pump position on the plant drawing. Describe the transfer task using the plant equipment references. Ask the project team to confirm whether the request concerns a replacement installation, a changed process arrangement or a new transfer duty before approaching the supplier.
Keep other treatment streams separate from the selected duty. Identify the drawing revision governing the requested installation. Ask the supplier to state which treatment task its proposed configuration addresses, and request clarification where a proposal assumes a different stream or equipment boundary from the one submitted in the buyer project documentation.
Describe the wastewater solids
Provide available particle descriptions, concentration records and sample photographs for the selected stream. Identify the sampling point and treatment condition represented by each record. Ask the process team to explain the reporting basis and any recorded variation before including the material description in the equipment request submitted for supplier assessment.
Describe any other recorded material characteristics in the terminology used by the sampling report. Ask which further sample information is needed to review the intended duty. Request the supplier to name the sample record used in its response, and refer differences in the assumed stream description to the plant specialist before comparing equipment configurations.
Submit fluid and treatment information
Attach the available fluid composition and treatment records that apply to the selected wastewater stream. Identify the process stage and operating condition associated with the documents. Ask the supplier which information is required to discuss the materials and seal arrangement of the proposed pump against the actual fluid description supplied by the buyer.
Keep cleaning fluids or changing treatment conditions in separate entries when they differ from the normal stream. Ask for written clarification of the component and condition covered by any material response. Refer the returned documents to the buyer responsible for the treatment process before using them to approve a proposed component description or configuration alternative.
Prepare the wastewater duty
Provide flow and head as a paired requirement for each treatment operating case. Attach the route drawing and identify the source and destination references used in preparing the requirement. Ask for a proposed pump configuration and corresponding performance document that address the same stream and operating case described in the enquiry.
Separate cases associated with changed levels, routing or treatment conditions. Ask which cases are covered by the proposed configuration and which need another response. Request revised documents when the plant changes the requirement, and keep the returned performance information tied to the matching duty worksheet rather than combining answers from different operating scenarios.
Check the treatment installation
Provide the local arrangement showing the proposed pump location, connection positions and available maintenance access. Identify existing site items intended to remain outside the equipment supply. Request the proposed assembly outline and interface drawing, and ask the plant team to compare them with the intended installation before accepting the equipment arrangement.
Ask for the included pump, drive and accessories to be identified separately in the scope. Request clarification of any connection or mounting change suggested by the proposal. Describe restrictions around the intended location and ask which further drawings are needed to review the proposed inspection and removal access for the equipment under consideration.
Review the wastewater equipment response
Compare the proposal against the selected treatment stream, sample information, paired duty and arrangement drawing. Ask for specific answers to unresolved material, connection and access questions. Request maintenance and component identification documents for the exact proposed configuration so the plant team can distinguish the equipment response from general wastewater application information.
Ask the project specialist to review changes to the proposed arrangement before the equipment scope is approved. Identify any remaining commercial questions with purchasing. Confirm minimum order quantity and lead time before ordering, and request the packing, receiving and delivery information needed for the particular equipment package proposed for the treatment plant.
