Split case pump requirements checklist

Prepare a split case pump requirement around the intended transfer duty, fluid records and installation limits. Ask for the actual proposed assembly and its document set before comparing configurations. Keep questions about connections, access and included items tied to the same equipment reference throughout the technical and purchasing review.

State the split case enquiry purpose

Identify the process or transfer task on the project diagram and mark the proposed pump location. Describe whether the request concerns replacement equipment or a new installation. Ask the project team to confirm the source, destination and requested supply boundary before requesting the proposed arrangement and its equipment description for supplier discussion.

Keep other project duties separate from the selected transfer task. Identify the current revision of the drawing and any existing equipment intended to remain. Ask the supplier to identify the purpose and boundary addressed by its proposal, and request clarification if it assumes a different installation or includes equipment outside the buyer requested scope.

Provide the operating duty schedule

Submit the required flow and head together for each operating case and identify the associated project route. Attach available records behind the requirement and distinguish project design inputs from existing observations. Ask for the proposed configuration and corresponding performance document addressing the same duty schedule before comparing another arrangement or quotation against the project brief.

Ask which cases are addressed by the proposed assembly and which remain open. Keep any alternative operation requirement in its own worksheet entry. Request updated documents if the project changes the route or duty, and refer the returned performance information to the responsible project specialist before using it to approve the equipment configuration for procurement.

Identify the fluid and material questions

Provide the available fluid composition and operating condition records for the intended task. Identify any cleaning fluid requirement separately from normal operation. Ask which further information is needed to discuss the proposed construction, and request the component material descriptions associated with the actual equipment configuration being considered rather than an unspecified pump family.

Ask the supplier to identify the component and condition covered by its material response. Refer proposed alternatives to the buyer specialist responsible for the fluid requirement. Keep the returned descriptions linked to the proposed assembly so the technical review can identify unresolved questions without assuming that a general material discussion defines the items included in the quotation.

Request the assembly and interface drawing

Ask for the outline drawing and connection identification belonging to the proposed split case arrangement. Supply the available site layout and mark the interfaces that must match existing equipment. Request separate identification of the pump, drive and accessories included in the equipment schedule so the buyer can compare the proposed assembly with the requested installation boundary.

Ask for any proposed mounting or connection change to be described against the buyer drawing. Identify the project team responsible for reviewing those interfaces. Keep optional arrangements under separate equipment references and request clarification where the drawing designation differs from the quotation description or the performance document returned for the proposed operating duty.

Review casing and maintenance access

Describe the inspection and removal access available at the intended installation. Ask for the maintenance document and relevant assembly drawing for the proposed equipment. Request identification of the space and interfaces the buyer should review for the intended work, and compare the supplier documents with the actual restrictions shown on the site arrangement.

Ask which component identification records should accompany future enquiries about the assembly. Keep maintenance questions specific to the proposed configuration and request clarification if an instruction refers to another version. Refer the access response to the buyer team responsible for site work before accepting an arrangement that depends on a different installation or removal route.

Compare the proposed document set

Bring the duty schedule, fluid description, assembly drawing and maintenance access response into the same proposal review. Ask the supplier to identify the quotation configuration associated with those documents. Request specific answers to open construction and interface questions, and ask for revised attachments when a proposed item changes during the purchasing discussion.

Ask the project specialist to review the current technical documents before purchasing confirms the itemized equipment scope. Keep optional items and site responsibilities separate in the comparison. Confirm minimum order quantity and lead time before ordering, and request packing, handling and delivery arrangements for the particular equipment package and destination identified by the buyer.
