Slurry handling / Procurement guide

Slurry pump temperature conditions

Temperature condition enquiries should identify the operating case and the record behind the stated temperature requirement. Submit the measurement or project requirement with its location and context. Ask the supplier to identify which conditions its proposed pump and component descriptions address, keeping separate cases visible in the technical review.

Identify the temperature requirement source

State whether the submitted temperature information is a project requirement or an existing measurement record. Identify the process stream and pump location concerned. Ask the project team to name the document governing the enquiry and clarify the terminology used for each condition before requesting a supplier response for the proposed equipment configuration and its components.

Keep project estimates separate from recorded observations. Attach the available report or requirement sheet rather than repeating an unexplained value in the quotation request. Ask the supplier to identify the source document used in its response, and request clarification if it has assumed a temperature condition different from the one submitted by the buyer for review.

Mark measurement and process locations

Identify the temperature measurement point on the process drawing and state which operating record belongs to it. Attach the instrument reference and other measurement documentation available to the buyer. Ask the project specialist whether that record applies to the intended pump stream before using it as part of the equipment requirement sent to the supplier.

Keep measurements from different locations under their own identifiers. Ask which additional location or instrument information is needed to review the submitted record. Request the supplier to distinguish questions about the process requirement from questions about an existing measurement so the technical discussion can address the condition actually intended by the buyer project team.

Separate the operating cases

Provide a condition schedule identifying the cases the project wants reviewed for the proposed pump. Keep normal operation, cleaning and other requested conditions in separate entries where they differ. Ask the process team to confirm each entry and request the supplier to state which cases are addressed by its configuration response and which need further information.

Attach the corresponding fluid or slurry description to each case. Ask the supplier to identify any operating assumption used where the project record is incomplete. Request revised documents if the buyer changes the condition schedule, and keep each response linked to the current case so the equipment comparison does not combine statements made about different operating situations.

Request component temperature responses

Ask which proposed components are covered by the supplier response to the submitted temperature conditions. Request the configuration and component material descriptions needed by the buyer reviewer. Identify seal and other component questions separately, and ask for written clarification where the returned document covers another assembly or leaves the condition reference unclear for a quoted item.

Keep proposed alternatives in separate equipment entries and request their corresponding documents. Refer the responses to the project specialist responsible for the temperature requirement before accepting the component descriptions. Ask for clarification where general material information cannot be connected to the actual proposed equipment, retaining the question until the supplier identifies the relevant configuration and condition in writing.

Link temperature to the duty brief

Provide the paired flow and head requirement, fluid information and installation drawing associated with the requested temperature cases. Ask the supplier to identify the configuration and performance document used for that combined duty response. Request clarification where the temperature condition in a returned document differs from the corresponding case in the buyer requirement schedule.

Keep performance and component responses attached to the same equipment identifier. Ask which additional process information is needed to review the proposed arrangement against the submitted case. Request a revised response when the project changes the fluid description or operating requirement so the technical review can compare the proposed equipment against the same current set of project records.

Confirm the condition document set

Collect the temperature requirement source, process location records, operating case schedule and component responses under the equipment enquiry. Ask for written answers to unresolved condition questions before approving the proposed configuration for purchasing discussion. Request identification of the installation and maintenance documents belonging to that assembly so the buyer can review the conditions addressed by each document.

Ask the project reviewer to identify any additional measurement or process record still needed. Keep the commercial scope confirmation separate from the temperature assessment. Confirm minimum order quantity and lead time before ordering, and request packing, handling and delivery arrangements for the actual proposed equipment and the intended receiving location recorded in the buyer purchase brief.
