Slurry handling / Procurement guide

Skid mounted slurry pump requirements

A skid mounted slurry pump enquiry should identify the equipment boundary and the interfaces expected on the proposed package. Provide the duty, slurry description and site layout together. Ask for an assembly drawing and itemized scope so the buyer can review the pump, drive, skid and connection questions as a coordinated equipment request.

Define the skid package boundary

Describe the intended transfer task and identify which assemblies the buyer wants considered within the proposed package. Distinguish requested equipment from existing site items. Ask for an itemized scope identifying the pump, drive, skid and accessories included in the proposal, with optional items separated from the main equipment schedule for technical and purchasing review.

Mark the proposed supply boundary on the project drawing and identify each interface with site equipment. Ask the supplier to name the drawing and configuration covered by its response. Request clarification where the proposed package includes an item outside the buyer brief or leaves a requested connection or accessory without a clear scope description.

Request the coordinated assembly drawing

Provide the available installation envelope and the intended location of the package. Ask for a drawing identifying the proposed assembly arrangement, mounting information and overall equipment boundary. Request the configuration reference associated with the drawing so the buyer can compare the physical package with the itemized scope and the corresponding equipment documents.

Ask for changes to the skid arrangement to be reflected in the current drawing rather than left only in correspondence. Identify restrictions around adjacent equipment and access routes. Request clarification of any installation assumption that differs from the buyer site layout, and refer the proposed arrangement to the project team responsible for the package location.

Submit duty and slurry documents

Provide the required flow and head together for each operating case and attach the corresponding slurry record. Identify the route drawing and source and destination references used by the project team. Ask for the proposed pump configuration and performance document addressing that same duty within the package scope described by the supplier proposal.

Include the available concentration definition, particle information and fluid description for the intended stream. Ask which additional sample details are needed for review. Keep alternative duties or slurry conditions in separate requirement entries, and request a revised response when a change in the project requirement affects the configuration described in the proposed skid equipment schedule.

Identify skid connection interfaces

Mark the intended inlet, discharge and other requested package interfaces on the buyer drawing. Provide the connection information already held by the project team. Ask the supplier to identify the corresponding connection arrangement on the proposed skid drawing and request written clarification of any difference between the proposed interfaces and the buyer installation requirement.

Request identification of site supplied items and any separately quoted connection components. Ask the relevant buyer disciplines to review the interfaces associated with the drive and the intended installation. Keep each unresolved connection question attached to the package drawing so the scope comparison can distinguish a supplied assembly from an item awaiting further project definition.

Review transport and access requirements

Describe the receiving route, installation location and restrictions that could affect handling of the proposed assembly. Ask for the package handling and installation documents associated with that configuration. Request the information the buyer receiving team needs to compare the proposed assembly with the available site route before accepting the package arrangement for further procurement review.

Describe the maintenance access available around the installed skid and request the corresponding removal or inspection documents. Ask which assembly items are represented in each document. Keep transport questions separate from maintenance access questions so the buyer can identify whether a proposed change concerns equipment receipt, initial installation or later work on the pump and drive assembly.

Control package document changes

Collect the itemized scope, assembly drawing, connection responses and performance documents under the proposed package reference. Ask the supplier to identify any revised item affecting the skid arrangement. Request an updated document set when the package changes so the project team can review the same current configuration across the quotation and installation attachments.

Ask the project specialist to close technical questions about the duty and interfaces before purchasing confirms the package scope. Identify optional items separately in the commercial comparison. Confirm minimum order quantity and lead time before ordering, and request packing and delivery terms tied to the actual proposed assembly and the intended buyer receiving location.
